The Stairway of Love and the old town
Start at the Stairway of Love near Corso Fazzini and climb among lanes, arches and white houses. Its hearts recall Cristalda and Pizzomunno: according to legend, a fisherman separated from his beloved by mermaids turned into the great rock facing the sea. Look for the historic Porta Ad Alt along the walk.

The flavours of Gargano
Try bruschetta with local olive oil, orecchiette, troccoli pasta with cuttlefish sauce or the fish soup called ciambott. Paposcia, a long filled bread, and local cheeses make a lighter break. Taralli, cartellate and almond-and-honey wafers add more flavours. An olive-oil tasting outside the town can be arranged in advance.
